ABOUT THE COURSEThis course deals with signals, systems, and transforms, from their theoretical mathematical foundations to practical implementation in circuits and computer algorithms. You will have a deep understanding of the mathematics and practical issues of signals in continuous and discrete time, linear time-invariant systems, convolution and Fourier transforms at the end of this course. You will also learn behaviour of analog & digital signals and the impact of signals on a specific system. You will learn about the applications of signals and systems in the fields of electrical, mechanical, chemical , electronics and aeronautical engineering.
COURSE OBJECTIVESUpon successful completion of the course, the learner will be able to :
In this module, we will learn about the classification of signals, basic Operations on signals, and elementary signals. Also we will learn about the systems viewed as Interconnections of operations and properties of the systems.
In this module, we will learn about the signals and the systems. So, now we will move forward and learn about the Convolution and the representation of impulse response. We will also learn about the Convolution Sum and Convolution Integral. With the help of this, we all know about how to solve the convolution problems.
In this module, we will learn about the properties of impulse response representation. We will also learn about the different methods of representing the continuous time systems - Differential, difference equation representations, Block diagram representations.
In this module, we will learn about the Fourier representation for signals. We will also learn about the discrete time and continuous time Fourier series. Continuous signals is divided into two categories: Periodic and Aperiodic. Here, we will get to know about periodic signals and their properties.
In this module, we will learn about the importance of Fourier transform. We will also learn about the Frequency response of LTI systems and Fourier transform representation of real time signals.
In this module, we will learn about the Z – transform. We will also learn about the properties of Region of Convergence, properties of Z – transforms and inversion of Z–transforms.
In this module, we will learn about the Transform analysis of LTI Systems and unilateral Z- Transform. We will also learn about its application of solving real-time difference equations.
