ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is the most pre-eminent, reliable and fundamental when it comes for solving electric circuits and electric network. It provides all the required knowledge on circuit analysis, theorems and deals with huge number of types of components that could go into a circuit and analyse their behavior. In modern life, circuits are everywhere and without circuits you wouldn't have anything that is powered by electricity. Thus, it makes the living easy in an advanced way. Further through its knowledge one can design own circuits based on the requirement.COURSE OBJECTIVE
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will be able to :In this module, you will learn how the circuit will perform. At the most basic level, circuit analysis is used to predict the performance of a given circuit with all the resistive elements. You will learn about the Ohm's Law and observe how the Ohm's Law works when the resistors are in series or in parallel and also learn to find equivalent resistance for simple and complex resistive circuits.
Circuit analysis is the process of finding all the currents and voltages in a network circuit of connected components. In this module, you will look at the basic elements used in a circuit and find out what happens when elements are connected together or interchanged into a circuit, different methods for analysis of circuit which includes Kirchhoff’s laws (current and voltage), Mesh current analysis and Node voltage analysis. All these analyses are required when you are coming up with a new circuit design for some specific application and it is important to know, how the circuit will perform.
This module is designed to know how you can reduce the size of a network model by dividing the current and voltage using voltage division rule and current division rule. You will also learn about the star-delta transformations which are used to reduce common resistor connections that are neither in series or parallel.
Importance of the network theorems is that they simplify or reduce the complexity of the circuit. Analysis of circuits by series-parallel reduction and star-delta transformation are sometime impossible when circuits are structurally complicated. They reduce the equations needed to be solved once a parameter say value of resistance or load changes. So, you are going to learn about these theorems which includes Thevenin, Norton, superposition, maximum power transfer and many more in this module.
The response of a circuit (containing resistances, inductances, capacitors and switches) due to sudden application of voltage or current is called transient response. In this module you will deal with L and C elements and learn how to calculate transient response of RL, RC and RLC circuits.
